Who can see the search on my credit file?

This will vary across each credit reference agency. At some the search is only visible to you and the insurer or broker who requested the search. At others the search is also visible to other companies carrying out the same kind of search. However, it is classed as a ‘soft search’ and so should not affect your credit rating.

Please bear in mind that a Percayso Inform footprint may represent multiple insurers or brokers, for example if you have used an aggregator website (such as www.gocompare.com). Percayso Inform performs deduplication to avoid multiple footprints being left on your credit file for the same enquiry. Percayso Inform will then share the information returned from the CRAs with all insurers and brokers that have requested it.

Whilst your credit file does not display details of the aggregator website, insurer and/or broker that have requested your credit data, you can ask to see this information by making a request to the CRA directly.
